The Guardian has a list of 10 species that have been effectively lost in the last decade. It’s amazing to see just how many animals can go extinct in just one decade, even in this time of advanced science, environmental consciousness and hyper-conservation.

I’m sure every animal rights group will protest this unconditionally. But I think it’s hilarious that frustrated zoo keepers in Thailand painted their elephants with water-color paints in an attempt to draw the attention of the panda-crazed country back to their national animal.
