sIFR was a great start. Cufon seems to be a big improvement. @font-face is a great idea. But Typekit looks to be the best solution right now. I haven’t gotten to play around with it yet but I’m really excited to get started.

There’s been lots of talk about fonts on the web lately. But when it comes to using custom fonts, even with it’s limitations, my favorite solution is still sIFR. This is one of the best tutorials I’ve found for implementing it.
