Congress works, sometimes

7 Oct 2009

It’s nice to see that Congress still passes meaningful legislation every once in a while. The “Safe Prisons Communications Act of 2009”, which will make it legal to jam cell phone usage in U.S. prisons made it through the Senate unanimous vote and should breeze through the House.

The issue of cell phone usage in prisons was finally given the attention it deserved back in May when Wired magazine ran a story about how easily cell phones are acquired and used for nefarious deeds inside our nations prisons.
