Awards worth winning

24 Aug 2009

Most awards shows are a veiled attempt at profiteering on the backs of the entrants. The amount of awards inevitably balloons, as the organizers rush to give out more awards, thereby encouraging entrants to reenter year after year, thus boosting the revenue of the “competition.”

In comes the .net magazine awards. A competition with only 17 categories, each one filled with the true cream of the crop. The nominees are whittled down by the web-browsing public and the finalists are judged by a who’s who of Internet legends. This is what awards competitions should be.

Now go vote.
